Sciencix, a Minnesota company that manufactures repair parts for scientific equipment, had a mission–and so did we. They needed a new homepage brand video that could immediately establish trust with new site visitors and potential customers.

And they needed to build rapport fast.

The approach:

Focus on the customer

We audited Sciencix’s existing brand video and made a recommendation: focus on the customer. What do they care about? We posed this question to the CEO and Marketing Director and made a list of potential customers’ primary concerns when choosing a parts supplier:

  1. Do the parts fit and function like OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts?

  2. Will I have to wait weeks for my parts?

  3. Do you ship to my country?

  4. Is there a guarantee of quality?

The Plan:

Quick AND Quirky Q&A

With the strategy in place, we wrote a script that quickly answered all four of the FAQs we’d identified. We trimmed the initial script relentlessly and added alliteration, wordplay, and humorous-but-relevant shots to the plan.

We then storyboarded the entire video, created a shot list and aggressive shooting schedule, and planned the logistics of filming on-site in Minnesota. To reduce costs, we'd only be there for one day.

The Execution:

Efficiency and Quality

We handled all elements of the production–logistics, shooting, editing, motion graphics, VFX–the works. We included a main actor, but worked with Sciencix employees to fill out all the other roles in the video.

Their team was awesome–and very grateful that we finished shooting and delivered the final video ahead of schedule!
